What is Goji Art House?

Goji Art House is Swedish/Finnish animation and film house, founded in 2021 by Vivi Laakko and Martin Wirén. We want to bring forth stories that we love and work with different elements; live-action, animated, audio and analog.

Since the beginning we´ve had the privilege of collabing with a lot of different people, projects, companies and institutions.

Our story

After meeting each other for the first time one November night in 2018, we became inseparable. Quite quickly we realized that we are very similar and liked a lot of the same things, and so the first collab and the seed to Goji Art House was born. Almost 50 shortfilms and music videos, many photo sessions, hours and hours in the studio writing, editing, performing, countless brainstorming sessions, many miles on the road and five years later, here we are. A Finn and a northerner who loves and lives for art and music.

Vivi´s story

Born and raised in the small town of Porvoo, Finland, actor/director Vivi Laakko is based in Stockholm. With a degree from Stockholm University of the Arts she's worked with a number of different projects on stage and film. Her most recent projects include series such as Evil (SF Studios) and Tore (Netflix). Laakko´s directorial debut came in 2020 with her play Lucifers Lustspel and continues to this day. In 2022 her shortfilms series Lupaan Sinulle Muistoja (I promise you a memory) saw the light of day and she released its first two parts Nostalgia and Naapuri (The neighbour). For her work she´s been awarded with grants from Konstsamfundet, Kulturfonden and Leif Björkman´s foundation.

Who are we?

Martin´s story

Martin Wirén is an artist, composer and saxophonist awarded with grants from foundations such as STIM, The Swedish Art foundation and The Royal Music Academy. Wirén was born in Gällivare in northern Sweden and from an early age he was introduced to the instrument that would later become his signum; the saxophone. After spending almost two decades in his family's garage practicing his instrument, he moved to Stockholm to study music at the Royal Academy of Music.

One of Wiréns artistic projects, Bear Garden, was recently featured on BBC radio and the track UP became Huey Morgan’s Beat of the week. Bear Garden´s released three albums, has received millions of streams, thousands of followers worldwide and has toured in most of Europe. Goji Art House is Wiréns platform to express his visual creativity. A combination of experimental visual art, grounded in composing, which has already resulted in productions with Göta Film, Warner Bros and Riksteatern.
